How much does MVP development cost?

0MVP’s fixed-price packages are US$999 for Idea Validation, US$4,999 for Core MVP and US$7,999 for Full MVP, within an agreed scope. The build fee and the ongoing cost of running the product are separate decisions.

Hosting, database usage, paid APIs, domain registration and optional ongoing care are separate. Confirm exclusions and acceptance criteria in your written quote. See current pricing and an itemised estimate.

Idea Validation is a landing page, waitlist and payment setup for testing demand. Core MVP adds authentication, payments, a database and two or three essential features. Full MVP includes more advanced workflows; its timeline depends on the agreed scope.

These are 0MVP’s published packages, not a market-wide average. A competing quote may include different work, so compare deliverables before comparing totals.

What makes an MVP more expensive?

Cost grows with the number of workflows, roles and dependencies that must work together. A single-user dashboard and an organisation-based product with invitations, approval steps and billing permissions have different acceptance criteria.

  • Multiple user roles require separate access rules and tests.
  • Marketplaces add seller onboarding, transaction states and operational decisions.
  • AI products add provider usage, failure handling and evaluation work.
  • Existing data imports need mapping, validation and a recovery plan.
  • External integrations depend on access, documentation and the behaviour of another service.

Ask for the smallest usable version of the full customer journey. Cutting half of a journey can leave a cheaper build that cannot validate the product.

What should you budget for after launch?

List hosting, database and storage usage, transactional email, payment processing, domain renewal and any paid APIs. Estimate usage from the action users perform rather than guessing a flat monthly bill.

For an AI tool, write down expected users × tasks per user × provider cost per task. Add failed requests and retries to the estimate. This is a planning method, not a provider price quote.

Decide who owns each account, who receives usage alerts and who pays the bill. Optional care and new feature work should have their own scope. A one-time development fee does not make third-party services free.

How do you compare MVP quotes fairly?

  1. Give each builder the same user journey and must-have features.
  2. Ask for included integrations, devices and user roles.
  3. Agree on examples that demonstrate the work is complete.
  4. Confirm code ownership, account access and deployment responsibility.
  5. Separate launch support, ongoing maintenance and future features.

Bring a short brief to a scope discussion. If demand is uncertain, start with validation rather than paying for features you cannot yet prioritise.
